My rear tires have just about had it and I need to purchase 2 rear tires- size 275/35/18. I currently have Falken FK452s in the rear. I purchased these a few years ago when my Z was a daily driver and I wanted a good tire with decent treadwear. One thing I did notice is that they aren't the greatest tires when it's wet outside. I have the same tires in front, but they have plenty of life left right now so I wasn't planning to replace the fronts yet. I didn't think it was a big deal to run different front and rear tires as long as the two fronts are the same, and the two rears are the same; is this correct? Or am I wrong? My car hasn't been a daily driver in quite a while now so I'm ready for some better, stickier tires and treadwear isn't as big a concern. I don't track the car very often, but I will do some spirited driving on cruises through some twisties. I don't intend to drive the car in rain, but would like a rear tire that grips better than the FK452's I have now when it's wet. I've been reading tirerack and found a couple possibilities, and have searched here as well, but most of the results here are outdated since new tires keep coming out. I wanted to hear some feedback with what people are running now for what is mostly a street car. Thanks.
